Just wondering how this works in D.I.T ? What do I have to get above to be eligible for compensation? and how many % can I fail by to be eligible?
    Thanks,

you need to get at least 35% to compensate, basically you've borderline failed.

Dont think you can compensate core subjects either so be wary of that!!!

depends on your course. mine's a 50% pass rate so our compensation minimum mark is 43%. ie, i get 70% in my continuous assessment and 44% in my final exam, i can compensate between them. if i got 42% though, i would have to repeat the final exam. AFAIK you can cross compensate in one subject only. e.g i get 70% in total in maths and 45% in chemistry, i can cross compensate and pass.

try not to derail the thread lads... use the cheat note thread for discussion of that. i would imagine this thread is interesting for a good few people looking for information on the whole compensation lark

So to clarify... it's only 1 exam that you can compensate for?

You should read your course handbook just to be sure, but as a general DIT rule, compensation is allowed for 2 modules in most cases.
