    Hi,

The €10 reg goes towards covering the overheads involved in running the tournament, having it in a hotel and fully dealer dealt means the cost to ourselves is relative to the reg. We are aiming to provide the best value tournament we can at the lower buy-in level.

As I said in my first post I run a some pub games and most of the tournament players will be from this. Feedback has been positive towards the €50 + €10 rather than a higher buy-in for the same reg.

I do appreciate the fact that a 20% reg may be off putting to some and take your feedback on board, however to provide this type tournament to players it's the best value we can offer.

€100 + €10 is too high a buy-in for our regular players & €50 + €5 is to low to cover the cost of running the tournament to the level provided.

We are just starting as a poker promoter and appreciate the feedback and will be looking to expand our range of games in the near future.

    Regards
    Wayne

This is the problem, once you move to an outside venue costs escalate. You would expect some Hotels to be happy with the extra bar business & bar food on a Sunday afternoon to give the room for free.

George is coming from a different angle & poker tournaments with a 10% reg fee are freely available in the area.

Reports on your last tournament were very positive, well run, good structure, except I believe the dealers need a little training or maybe experience.

Anyway best of luck with this, don't think I'll get out for another Sunday early start to play poker ;)

Stick to the structure that you used last time.As you said, you're catering to a specific group that wont pay more then €50+€10.

The lower buy-in cash game worked well (.50+1 with 30 min fee for rake) but a few people said they would of happily played longer.Did the hotel want people out by a certain time maybe?

I'll be there next time, work permitting.Good luck with it.

No we could have kept the table running and in hindsight probably should have, lesson learned.

Hope to see you at the next one.

Was it not 20% in the woodlands for the team event?

Be fair now Ian, compare like with like.

It's that tight git George who is complaining about the reg fee. I think it was well explained by Wayne and really for the numbers they are catering for (probably around 50/60 runners) it certainly wouldn't pay them at a €5 per player. I'd have no problem paying a €10 reg fee for this type of tournament & maybe the % is an unfair way to make a judgement. You must look at the overall picture.

If the Woodlands was 20% it is a slightly different scenario as it was a national competition with professional dealers from all over the country who had to be fed & accommodated + it was a two day event in an outside venue with food supplied for the players.

I think when making comments a little thought should be put into them first and not be making them just to stir the s**t.

Now go back to your 2c/5c table there :D:D

yes, that's what winning players do - they play a level, make lots of profit in order for them to safely move to the next level, rinse & repeat...actually scrap all that, no need for you to take all that in :pac::pac::pac:
