I have a digital HD box to Sony tv via hdmi.

I've set up the remote to the TV and can work everything fine (thank you above)

Only problem i have is that when I hit the tv button, to say change the TV volume, the screen goes blank as if the upc box is switching the signal as it still says the correct hdmi channel in the top corner. Once i hit the upc button it returns the picture.

Does this happen to anyone else and can anyone explain whats happening?

    Cheers

You don't have to hit "TV" to control the volume. Just operate the volume + and _ while in "UPC" mode and the volume will go up and down.

Yeh but I flick alot between my PS3 and UPC and that volume is always miles out from the UPC so I'm always changing the TV volume.

AFAIK the damn UPC remote will jump to a terrestial channel or at least switch off UPC, in all cases, when you hit the "TV" button. The only solution I can think of is to get a Universal Remote with a "Learn" function. There was a cheap one (€8.99) in LIDL recently which was one of the best I have seen. There is a thread about it on the Bargain Alerts forum and there might be some still available. Try your local branch. I can operate TV, Sky, VCR, DVDR, & UPC all from the one unit. With that type of remote when you press "TV" or any of the other functions, the UPC box will not be turned off.
