being from the country (cork) not often in dublin. going up to RDS next monday. looking for good cheap hotel in that area. The only one I can find that seems really resonable is the Temple Bar Hotel @ €90 for room only.. which is fine. all the other hotels I found on google maps are way more expensive.. like from €155 to €250 Now to be fair I am only half way down the list but I figured if you guys.. or girls could give me a short cut to the best/cheapest. Dont want to stay in a dump either.
    thanks in advance:D

Well that explains why you're getting out of Cork :D

There are some really good hostels in the city if you're looking for something cheap. Temple Bar isn't really in the same area as the RDS, it's a bit of a bus ride away but nothing too bad, about 15 minutes I think. There is a Bewleys Hotel right beside the rds and they charge 119 euro a night for any room. Not cheap but very close to the venue and it's a nice hotel. Just click the ballsbridge hotel, that's the rds one

Jurys in the IFSC. €99 a night

You have three Dart stations (Connolly, Tara St and Pearse) within a 5 min walk. Choose anyone and get the Dart and you're just a few minutes from the RDS.

Not from Dublin, but myself and the missus stayed at the Jurys Doyle Hotel in Ballsbrige. It was pretty good and a great price too. Something like 50€ each?

Or another option is Bewleys Hotel, next door to RDS and costs €119.

Jury's Ballsbridge was bought and renamed Ballsbridge Inn (I think it's that one anyway) you'll find it at http://www.d4hotels.com

    try www.hotwire.com

they have $120 a night ~ €77 for a 3 star in the south dublin inner city.

If you leave the booking till the day before, I got it to drop to $94 - €60!

If you don't know what hotwire is or why these prices are so low go to

    http://www.hotwire.com/newtohotwire/index.jsp

I've used them all across the United States and in London, never used them for Irish bookings. It's a little bit of gambling, as in you don't know specifically what hotel you get until you book, but with dublin divided up the way it is go with area B hotels or central and you couldn't be far away from the rds. From checking the details of the hotel you can often guess what hotel it is anyways.

No i don't work for them, and yes it's your own fault if it doesn't work out. :)

Why don't you just look up www.d4hotels.com instead of putting it into google? The westbury is one of the three most expensive hotels in Dublin, it's not part of d4hotels

These type of threads always crack me up :D. You'd be better off asking a culchie about the prices. We don't live in hotels you know :pac:
