An Engineering student, wanting a 12-month office job!

    Right, well here goes.

Last year (summer '08) I failed a few exams from the winter and spring semester. I duly went back and repeated those subjects. There was two subjects which I was told I would resit as workshop CAs after the main exams in May. I've just been informed that that cannot happen, and they will offer me the subjects again to resit in May 09!

This means I need to find a job in Dublin City for the next twelve months. I'd like to get some office experience, putting my typing skills to good use, but since I'm in an Engineering course, I have no idea what kind of office 9-5 I would be suited for.

    Any starting suggestions?

Have you thought about applying for an engineering job? As an example, my company has lots of people who are doing courses doing the week (Masters, Bachelors, even repeat Leaving Certs). This would also stand to you when you get your degree.

Have a look for some of the consultancy jobs out there.

    Try Deloitte...
    What are you majoring in?

I have a Pass Higher Cert in Mechanical Engineering, these exams will give me an Ordinary Degree in Manufacturing Technology. (everything you ever needed to know about making lots of stuff.)
