    Hi all,
I know i'll prob need to go to a physio for better advise.. but thoguh i'd try here. Last weekend I did a 11k run in Galway which was mostly on road and path, I alway do my training on grass, but on the sunday and today i'vev some pain in my shin, could be shin splints I think.

could this be as a result of upping my mileage in the last few weeks, and is there a support you can get for your shin?

hope i wont miss too much training as this weekend i had a great run, the 11 k was 3 mins faster tehn my best 10 k this year, so training is going well..

Rest. Then when recovered, use these exercises:
    Shin Splints Exercise Manual

This assumes you are using the right type of footwear, training program, etc.

    Thanks for the information.
I've taken a really easy week this week, havent ran much at all, and did some cycles to keep the fitness up.

Shins are nearly at 100% did a couplemiles yeaterday and just a slight pain, but will work on them further, anyone know how long it usually takes to recover 100%

Was tinking for getting a support or compression socks to help too, have people used them before?
