Hi, just to let you's know to get you're entres in very soon for the Share the Dream T&F event (corny name I know:)) which will be held as a send off for Roisin McGettigan & Fionnuala Britton, both of which are representing Ireland in the olympics. This wil be held on a Friday evening, on the 27th June on the Charlsland track in Greystones from 7pm.

There will be lots of events for all levels of club runners, including juniors and masters. This is a follow on event from last years very sucessful "Share the memory" event an Greystones, which had a very good mix of athletics out, including many UK and overseas competitors.

    More info about it HERE,
    Entry forms HERE

Entry is FREE, but you need to get your entry in ASAP.

Timmaay - great initiative. We need more of these meets around the country. Have the events being confirmed yet? I love the name actually, having "the dream" is why many of us got hooked on the sport in the first place!

Tingle, I'd expect there to be a similar range of events that was in the share the memory event last yr (as can be seen Here ). Although the share the dream is a friday night only event, so there will be a slightly reduced number of events.
We have full grids for mens 100/200/400 and we'll be more than lightly have an 800,1500, either a 3k or 5k and hopefully a steeple also.
I agree with you, events like this are great initiatives and need to be promoted more. These are stepping stones to getting a full grand prix circuit in Ireland. I'm only really getting involved with the share the dream meeting, and its mindblowing the finances involved in it. We are looking at spending approx. €6000 to get the show up and running, not an easy amount to raise, especially considering entry is free. When you look at the likes of the port tunnel race which had 10,000 entries at 20/30quid each, trying to host big track meeting are a competely different story with limited entries.
Raising money is proving to be our problem at the minute, if anyone has any ideas let me know!
