Sky+/HD Recordings Won't Play

    Hi there,

I have Sky+ box in one room, and a SkyHD box in another. It is becoming an increasingly common weekly occurance that sometimes a programme which was recorded will not play.

The programme shows as recorded, you can select it, view info, however if you try to play it, it just won't ? It can be a case you record 3 programmes on the same channel in a row, and the 1st & 3rd play, but the second won't ? It also happens on both boxes, so I am not sure of the cause ?

Any ideas, also anyone know if there is a way to get the recorded programs to play ?

    Thanks....

The same is happening me recently on Sky+ I don't have HD. It showed as having recorded All Saints on TV3 a few weeks ago but it wouldn't play it, same with Sex and the City on Paramount the other night. Also it won't let me Back Up from the "banner" screen. It's beginning to get annoying when you can't rely on it!

Yeah, annoying for sure. From some further googling it would seem this is becoming more and more common, with no solution at present. It also seems to happen more often when you record programmes back to back on the same channel.

Some possible fixes with varying results:

    - Rebuilding the Sky+ Planner
    - Turning off the Instant Rewind feature
    - Set the start/end timing to zero (i.e. don't add to the program), although the risk here is you miss the start/end if the programme runs over.
    - Use manual record instead

Seems like something to grin and bear for the time being or start manually intervening. :(
