    hi all

i have one of these batteries:

    'Firefox' 9.6v 2000mah Ni-cd battery

    and one of these chargers:

TLP Fuzzy logic Charger the one with the fan,

does anyone know the correct setting to use for one of those batteries? they have 8 cells.

    thanks

cant remember the exact calculation, but my rule of thumb is for 2000mah, the max charging current i use is 2A, normally i just stick it onto about 1A and leave it on fast charge for most my batteries, (press the mode button twice i think for fast charge)

the number of cells doesn't matter, the charger will work that out itself

I would personally charge that at closer to 3A but its up to you. The higher ampage = faster charge but also an increased chance of damage.

I have the same charger and use 2.25 for 1400s

I always thought the slower the charge the better.

With Ni-Cd, 1A is about right for most packs. Ni-Cd prefer to be trickle charged, the lower the current the better. But if you must charge the pack fast, don't do it over 1A.
With Ni-MH, you can go much higher, though as a rule of thumb, I wouldn't recommend higher than the capacity if you can help it. IE, if it's a 2500mAh battery, don't charger it at currents higher than 2.5A. That rate will charge it in an hour from dead. Ni-MH's can charge at higher rates in a pinch, so if you're in a hurry, you can double the capacity, hence halving the time.
