    You mean in general or to catch thieves? In general, Applications -> Photo Booth, hit the big camera button :D

    Yeah photobooth is the way to go. If you want security webcam software the back to my mac is a good solution or you could use this:

    http://www.evological.com/evocam.html

    That has motion sensors, timelapse etc and ftp up to your webspace.

    I have EvoCam. Can't work out how to get it to do what I like: take a motion-detected movie and email that to my webmail. It takes photos and sends them to my webmail, but then takes movies and saves them to the desktop.

    And I can't seem to switch off the camera while I'm working on the Preferences, so there are many photos of me grimacing thoughtfully and staring at the screen.
