Looks like a playoff between Sergio and Goydos.

I hope Sergio wins as I think he deserves a "Major". If he doesn't then at least there's a big win for an outsider.

guydos just ballooned his teeshot on par 3 17th into the water... garcia hit to about 12 feet, parred to win easily

Very good final round I thought. Much more interesting than the Masters last month. Course was set up very difficult but still made for exciting play. Garcia finally holed some putts over the back nine and that was the key, great one on 18 especially.

Shame it had to end with Goydos making the mistake on 17, had hung in there very well on the closing stretch. Was probably inevitable it would happen to one of them though. Well done to Sergio however, seems to have finally got over the great disappointment of the Open.

I gotta say, if Garcia could putt like a top, top player he's be undisputed World No2 in my opinion.

Maybe the most consistent ball-striker around. Always think it's so odd the way he kinda drops or lays off the club just before this downswing.

I am chuffed for him as have been a huge fan of Garcia from his amature days.

The scary thing is he was a great putter when he was younger and seemed to think to much about it and lost it... I really hope this pushes him on as he is a real talent.

Yes his putting lets him down. He was No. 1 in GIR in the PGA and as you said if hi putting was in the top bracket then he would win much much more. Nobody can fault his determination and will to win.

One of my favourite players and I'm delighted for him.

Very unfair to say that Guydos just balloned his teeshot on 17!
Even Garcia said it too him on the walk around that it was a great strike and he was unlucky he caught a gust in its up flight. And Garcia was 4 ft away with his tee shot and still pushed the putt!!
Anyway I am delighted that Garcia won with a nifty €50 on with PP @40's.
    :D

Finally, he has won one of the biggest events in World Golf, the unofficial 5th Major. The wonder is can he kick on and win a major which is badly needs.

Was always gonna be risky getting there with a PW though. A punched 9 iron was probably the shot in hindsight. But its easy to say I know and he was unlucky having fought bravely in the last round. Was disappointing to see his challenge end like that.

Thrilled to see Garcia back on top. He is by far the most talented of the rest IMO and now if he could only get the tiger monkey off his back.... I really feel he has a couple of british opens in him, I'd even say he'll win two before harrington wins another (major).... so there :D

If he plays like he does in the Ryder Cup always no one would touch him, he just seems to be so focused and revved up for it. Hopefully he can have a good US Open coming up soon....

Seems to be a name that has stuck to it and will probably now never shrug off. Gives it too much credit I think. "Official Wannabe 5th Major" is a bit more accurate.

Great for Sergio. Hopefully he can kick on from this.
