sand-coloured deposits in kettle

    What are these do you think?
    Lime from hard water is white I thought.
    This stuff is sand-coloured and like sand to the touch - coms off the element easily and has sparkly bits even.

    It's limescale and it varies depends where you live. The water in London is full of it, and after a week you would nearly have enough to build a small house!

    I thought limescale was white though not light brown
