    the APH is a captive bred animal and is indigenous to no country. They are a cross between two African hedgehogs called the Algerian Hedgehog (Atelerix Algirus) & the Four toed hedgehog (Atelerix Albiventris). They are a man made cross and live in captivity only.

    anyone else keep anything weird and wonderful like this ?

    No not really, in comparison to that, though a rabbit kept in someone's bedroom is sometimes considered weird:pac:

    I was thinking of getting one or two as pets at some stage as they seem very interesting and rather low maintenance, but I don't have the time or space for them now:p Yours look brilliant and very adorable ;)
