Hi myself and 2 mates are thinking about going to Santa Ponsa last week in July. We are all 32 and looking for a lads holiday. I was wondering are we too old for such a place we have been to Greece previously.

    Thanks

dont think you'll be too old, was there once my self, was 28 at the time my mate was 29, had a great week, if your going out specifally for a lads holiday your fine, just stay away from green hills, magaluf is also good for a night as well, short journey away by taxi

    ;)

From what i remember of santa ponza was alot of 18 yr olds getting drunk and starting fights. I wouldnt go there if your older than 21. Go to Crete or Bulgaria, slightly older crowds.

Thanks for the responses I am hearing that it is very popular with leaving certs is it mostly that age group or is it a mixed crowd? I have been to Crete but I have never been to Santa Ponsa.

depends when you go, i went in august, towards the end of the main season, was still a few 18 to 21 yearolds around, quite a lot of mid to late 20's up to approx 30 (me and my mates age group), and then a few families, one or two trouble spots, but from what i seen was always caused by the same group and in the same place each night , you'll quickly know were to go and not to go after a few nights, of the 6 nights we were there, was out 4 or 5 of them, first two nights we took in most of the bars, preety much sussed where to avoid after that

most of the places in the resort, from my experience, entertainment is DJ, with the rest live entertainment such as bands

mostly 75 to 80 percent irish and english holiday makers though, with most of the bars cartering for them, rest was a mix of spainish, french and and german

    ;)

I went to Santa Ponsa when I was 18 and felt old! Steer clear of Fama especially, crawling with hammered 14 year olds

Yeah, we went to the "adult" version but as far as I know the only real difference was a bit of cursing! The food was just chicken & chips and the free drink (beer and sangria) was pretty horrible but the show was worth it, think it was about €40 or thereabouts

There are 12 of us going to santa ponsa, does anyone think it would be safe for us to go to Magaluf as you hear a lot of stories that it is dangerous for Irish.

In my experience, it's only dangerous if you go wearing Celtic or Ireland jerseys and are looking for a fight. About 10 of us, lads and girls, went to Magaluf for a few nights out (go to BCM, a great dance club!) and were fine. We did see a few Irish/English lads fighting but as I say, it did seem that the Irish lads were doing their best to antagonise them.
