Do I pay for GPS signals??

I've been a Meteor customer for years, pay as you go. I'm looking to get an N series Nokia to use GPS among other things.

I know that I can choose to switch network connectivity off and download the map of wherever for free using Nokia Maploader from the PC. Then the built-in GPS receiver will use the maps I've downloaded.

I'm just wondering if there is airtime charges for receiving the GPS signal? And would it be supported on Meteor Pay As You Go?

    Thanks in advance.

(BTW, I rang Meteor customer care twice and have not been able to get a definite answer. They kept getting mixed up with GPRS and told me that is something like 3c per k/b)

this has been answered about 15 time already - but NO - there is no charge for GPS

downloading maps using GPRS will be charged

standard GPS (Unassisted) will not use any data packets and will determine you position based on satellites info alone

however, if AGPS (Assisted GPS) is available you would be charged for any data packets used while attempting to achieve a faster fix for your position ref AGPS
