Summer Employment !

So , hopefully I will be going to college in September and I planned on working pretty much for the whole summer. However now I find out that the place I usually work in cannot take on part time employees this summer, which sucks! I was going to buy my first car at the end of the summer and now im boggled! I dont like the idea of having my parents pay for my car, my insurance, my holidays and subsidizing me for all of next year, thus I need a good job!

Can anyone tell me of any really good pay jobs?? Although I doubt anything can rival my old pay cheque! I was earning €13.30 last summer and time and a half every bit of overtime during the week, and then double time on Saturdays and Sundays! so I was averaging about €650 per week!

    So, any ideas???

    thanks
    plastic-man

ya wont find that kind of money anywere unless your qualified and expirienced or you are lucky know someone, you will have to make do with minimum wage like the rest of us, i would suggest looking to find a job were they give an "extra" income such as a resturant waiter with tips i used to earn 20 euro at least a day, or a sales man with commision, or if ya dont like the idea of serving customers maybe on a site, but i dont have much expirience of this.

Yeh, I know i probably wont get as much money as I earned last summer. But I was considering looking at hotels,xtra-vision and the cinema and places. what is the minimum wage these days, excuse my ignorance?

I think €8.60 an hour is the latest.

I reckon hotels are the way to go then, with the tips. Although I still think that there are jobs out there who pay part-timers over €11 per hour...

Try any of the bookmakers near you. With extra racing on during the evening now they are open till late which means they are looking for more staff at this time of year.
