Hey, so i installed Ubuntu the other day using Wubi, but i didn't particularly like it after using it for a bit over the few days. In college we used OpenSuse, which i very much prefer...

However, the one good thing that was real cool about Ubuntu was that you can use Wubi to install it, meaning there's no messing about with partitioning the drive or anything...

My question is: Is there something similar for OpenSuse? Or any other distributions? As far as i can see Wubi is only for the Ubuntu distributions (Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu)

Not sure on that one, but installing any linux distro is a piece of cake. Just shrink your main os down, vista can shrink itself but if its Xp use gparted from a live cd. When installing you then get the option of using the largest continuous free space.

openSUSE makes it an absolute doddle as well. Just take the usual precautions: defrag your Windows partition before resizing and backup any important data just in case.

Failing that, you might like to run it in a virtual machine. I'd recommend VMWare Server or VirtualBox.
