    Hi all,

I thinking Im in with a shout but maybe not. My father has US citizenship (US Passport) but has never lived in the states and my grandfather had US citizenship, lived and worked in the army for many years there. I was born in Ireland in 1982?

Does anyone know if I have change of qualifying or is off to play the lotto :) ?

    Thanks

I think your father must have lived there for you to qualify for naturalization. Not 100% sure.

You should probably check with the embassy. I have us citizenship only because I was born there and apparently my children can also have US citizenship. I was told this a while back but being the states I can only presume there's lots of stipulations. You're best to check it out!

Let me know how you get on anyway, just in case I ever need US citizenship for my future children. I have joint Irish and Us citizenship, my bf has joint New Zealand and South Africa citizenship, so who knows where any possible children will have passports from!
