Need Help! No Sound On Computer!

Ok, so yesterday I reformatted my computer, back to basics as Windows 2000. Everything seems to have been reinstalled sucessfully on my computer with the exception of the sound. I really need sound because, as an audio student and music fan, the computer is essentially worthless without it. All I need to do is find a driver for the sound card. At the moment I have Cambridge Creative speakers, SBS52 and a Dell Optiplex 620 computer - which I know is designed for Windows XP but I have Windows 2000 running on it. Anyway I really need somebodys help in finding a driver to play sound, I know I found one before, I just cant remember where. Would I be crazy in thinking theres a programme I can download that would install a sound driver for me? Please help as Ive been trying this now for 24hrs with no success....anything would be apprichated.

    Thanks

Installing now, thanks guys, I really hopes this works but kudos in advance for the fantastic and quick response. You know your stuff on this forum.

At the same time, might I ask, is there any way to get the maximum amount of colours for Windows 2000 using the same specs. I have 256 colours but it just doesnt look as good as I expected, especially the videos on youtube. Could I be missing a more up to date graphics card for this system out there? If anyone can offer a hand that would be great.

1408 - you can certainly do better than 256 colours, you just need the drivers for your graphics card ;)

Its very simple to find drivers, stalker this applies to you to :) :

    Go to http://www.google.ie
In the search field type in the name your computer manufacturer, the model, your operating system, the name of the device you need drivers for and the word driver.
    Click search.
Have a quick look through the search results and click on the one which links to your manufacturer.

So for 1408, type in: Dell Optiplex 620 2000 video driver.

stalker, that number is the part number, you can use that as well when searching, your model is a Satellite M70 so you'd type in: Toshiba Satellite M70 XP audio driver.

You'll get a number of results, I'd recommend choosing the manufacturers website as other sites require you to either pay or register :)
