Okay just moved house and I gotts no TV!!! I'm moving to Canada in April so I don't want to spend an ungodly amount on a TV but at the same time I'm a movie whore and need the fix!

Peats have some 40/42" LCD's for the 700 - 900 euro mark but they are brandless. (Walker TV? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?) I'm hitting Harvey Norman next week end on the hunt but I'd like to go armed with info as if I see one I like I'll just get it. And that can be baaaaaad idea!

But should I got for the no names? I mean how bad can it be! :o
Also I hear LCD for gaming but Plasma for Movies...True?

All I want is multi scart with at least 1 VGA connection for lap tops...am I asking the impossible? :p

What about the Sony KDL37P3020? Alliance are looking for €869 (from another post). It's all the resolution you need for now and not a bad set. As it's a Sony you'll probably sell it on after a few months if you need to. I'm not a great fan of LCD or Sony but at the price I think it's a great buy. I'd have one myself but I'm probably in for the long haul with the Panasonic 42 pz80.
I'd agree that the plasma is better for movies (from my choice that's obvious) but if you're leaving at the end of the year I'd think that the LCD is going to get you more buyers. If you drop a grand on a plasma you'd be lucky to see 500 back. You might do a bit better with the LCD and only have paid 870 so it's all money in your pocket.
Don't know what you'll spend it on in Canada of course... anti-moose spray probably :)
