I have some pictures of my custom built touchscreen here:
    My Computers Blog

I got my hands on it after my IT uncle had finished up with computers and didn't require it any more. So I booted it up to find that its was a Windows 2000 Professional semi corrupted due to a program probably written for the particular computer called CentaPoint. Im not too pushed so I downloaded the touchscreen drivers and put them on a USB key.

I opened up the case to find it wasn't a usual motherboard or size... No easy upgrades here.

I later installed CPU-ID onto the computer to find it was speccing a reasonable:

    15" 1024x768 Touchscreen
    Crusoe TM5400 500MHz
    128MB Memory
    Transmeta LongRun
    Hot swappable 2.5" IDE HDD
    2 CompactFlash Ports
    Extremely Silent

Basically half the computer this is:

So I was thinking of installing a new OS... on my new 120GB HDD which is on its way. Now I've never been fond of linux as I could never think of any possible reason to own it... untill now... Im looking for something that can play movies music MSN internet and pictures with big icons... like the Asus EEE... Also i want it free ( linux is free?) or cheap and reasonable small to download!!! Also any reccomendations welcomeTHANKS!!!

You probably want something like Damn Small Linux (http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/). It has music playing built in but you can install VLC afterwards for movies. Then you'll need AMSN (http://www.amsn-project.net/) for messenging.

If it's just KDE then try
knoppix desktop=fluxbox|gnome|icewm Use specified WM instead of KDE (1)
knoppix desktop=kde|lg3d|larswm Use specified WM instead of KDE (2)
knoppix desktop=openbox|twm Use specified WM instead of KDE (3)
knoppix desktop=wmaker|xfce|xfce4 Use specified WM instead of KDE (4)

BTW to get 3D on better machines
    knoppix desktop=beryl

puppylinux is nice for low spec PCs too

A live cd is a way to testing linux without actually installing it. You boot off the CD and it gives you a full working version of the distro without touching your hard drive. You can install software, mess with configs etc and just reboot if you screw it up. Then when you're happy use the Install icon on the desktop.

Is there a genuine connection between your PC and the one you've linked to?
Is it actually the same model, or just similar looking?
If it really does take DDR2 RAM, it'll be easy to upgrade that.
Can you take a photo of the RAM, or even the whole motherboard and post it here?
A note of anything written on the board would help with us giving any advice
on how to get the various bits working.

128M of RAM is crippling and you'll never be all that happy with it.
Another thing about so little memory is that many livecd's will perform very poorly.

A good starting point for an install might be Mythbuntu.
It has a front end which I think will suit what you're looking for,
and if you put the streaming work on another machine, it'll perform very well indeed.

There's a link to a download of the alternate version here.
The desktop CD will not install at all on a machine with that little RAM,
but maybe upgrade that before trying too hard to get linux onto it.

    Whoah, silly me.
There it is - picture number 16 on your bebo page.
I wouldn't have asked if I'd realised it was that obvious.

I still can't see where you stated any motherboard model number, just a processor model.
That link to a totally random motherboard on the linitx site combined with the list
of hardware in your sig left me asking what exactly you wanted a hand with.

It looks like there's a RAM slot at 90 degrees to and above one of the CF sockets,
but it's hard to tell - it might be a mini PCI. Photo's not that clear.
If it's a RAM slot, you could robably throw in at least another 128.
