Pool Repairs In Hotel

    Hi ,

Just looking for people opinions here .
I booked a 4 star hotel in Spain for a week at the end of May as part of a Package deal with a well known operator . Got a good deal etc.. , but then got a letter yesterday saying that for approx 10 days the pool and surrounding area will be closed starting 9 days before we arrive . I called them this morning and was told that basically I have no right to be moved or refunded as the disruption is classed as minimal and only for 1 day of my holiday (approximately !) Any ideas on where I stand with this ?

    Cheers

If it's one day out of seven, I rather suspect that any case you have is weak. I don't suppose that your holiday plan was entirely based on using to pool. Anyway, I'm sure you will manage to find some other activity to enjoy.

Life being what it is, jobs like this can over-run. If you lose more than one day of pool use, then I think you can claim some compensation. It would probably help your case if you informed the tour operator (in writing) that the pool was a major consideration in booking the holiday, and that you will seek compensation if you are denied its use for more than the one day they say.

    Cheers ,

Sounds like good advice . Nothing to lose by making my feelings known in writing , just in case !
