Just as a matter of interest whats all the posters achievements in football and what level have ye all played football at?

Tomthepost's dig at blackbelt about not knowing anything about football started it all off!

Just played with a junior club in Kerry so won several underage medals nothing of great importance probably Community Games U-14 Silver medal stands out.
Won college C Championship at third level
Won u-21 Div 1 Dublin League medal with Kilmacud Crokes
Nothing of great note at senior level.
In fairness I do know alot of guys that couldn,t kick a ball in anger but know a fair bit about the game.

Ya that can be true in fairness! Some lads can play at very high levels and not have a bleedin notion! Like the sayin goes a great player doesnt make a great manager! I just wonder what the level is of half of these people who make silly and brash comments!

I played up to minors with Ballybay in Co. Monaghan. Moved over here from England when I was 10 so my first games were in full forward, couldn't even pick the ball up lol, running round scoring like a soccer player! Played in midfield after that with Paul Finlay, easiest couple of years I had, give him the ball and watch him run!

Quit after minors though as things get too serious if you're not 'brilliant' and I wasn't. It's a pity as I know a lot of lad my age feel the same way and probably would've liked to play on. Is it the same everywhere?

Play with intermediates and juniors for St Vincents.Gained promotion to AFL6 and AFL10 respectively.Promotion to AFL10 was as a result of winning our championship last year even though we did pretty poor in the league.

    In westmeath:
    Football:
Won U14, U16 and U18 B medals. Also played in U16 and U18 A finals (It's a combination thing except for town teams)
Played 3 games Senior League while 16 (not conceeding a goal) - yet managed to not get another game for the seniors (who were actually intermediate the year after!) and only a handful of meaningless games for the 2nd team in the next 2 years before I got fed up and quit.

    Hurling:
Won the minor B (not exactly a high standard) and played a couple of senior championship games (league basis).

    Uni:
Played football, hurling and soccer for the college freshers team :)
Played Fitzgibbon 1 year (we kinda lost by a lot) and got to a final (at least - I think we might of won it but I can't remember) of the 2nd's football one year.

Since college haven't played except for 1 old-boys match (college reunion thing - so terribly serious) :) - Being in Austria can't see me making a comeback especially seeing that i've just turned 30 :(

quit after u-16 to concentrate on sk00l.

'politics' kept me out of the game since.

teh daddy is a huge gaa man, played junior into his 40s until peer pressure forced him to stop; that and age :/
Secretary of his club for years, treasurer, chairman; selector, trainer etc etc for the teams.

Brought me to AI finals as a youngen.

I picked some things up from being around him. :)

I never really played football at any significant level but played hurling up to U16 with my club. We won alot of medals there but again too many to list. Lost the Div 1 U14 Feile to Vinnies but won a mini Feile a few months before in Cork beating Na Piarsigh (Setanta O hAlpins team) in the final. Dropped to the B team after U16 as wasnt getting my game (they were hugely successful and now have many Dublin seniors from that team) but the B`s were a joke. Nobody on the team really cared about winning so quit completely after a year there and also to concentrate on music. Still planning to get back into it in some capacity as miss it alot but need some other things to fall into place first. Thats my "How brilliant am i?" post anyway......not that brilliant :( hehe

Played football to senior level with the club (in Galway) and hurling up to u-21grade with a club who are Junior A.

A few medals with the club and school but never won anything at senior level. Lost more semis and finals than I won unfortunately. Played mainly no.11 or 14 in football and wing forward in the hurling. Decent footballer and average hurler.

I won U-16 League and lost the championship final that year too.
Won U-17 Championship, and then lost minor championship the following year.

I transferred clubs to my fathers club the next year.
Lost the Junior A Championship final, but we represented Laois in the Lenister Championship and I was playing right corner back.
That was 3 years ago. College has come first since to my detriment, as the club went on the win the Championship, and then the Leinster Championship and are playing Intermediate Football now.

Time to get out of college and go back me thinks!

So you basically started this thread to brag? :D

I've played at all levels including senior league, never won a senior medal, have an intermediate league, our team are intermediate championship but senior league. Few minors, junior and schools county medals and a lot of broken dreams and heart breaks along the way (all in football!)
Usually played in the full back line positions playing half back for one season, or goals for a season or too.
Played a bit of handball as well, nothing spectacular, but have a team event all Ireland medal from inter-varsities.

Currently on a bit of a sabbatical after emigrating to the UK, but plan to play a bit here once i get organised.
