Was thinking of going to dubrovnik this august with the travel department, was just looking to see if anybody has been on this trip and what they thought of it. The area, hotel (Tirena), and dubrovnik itself. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know about Dubrovnik but my parents have been on a few holidays with the travel department and every one was brilliant. Seems like they know what they are doing.

lovely town, about 2 days there would do you, there's nothing much to do except walk around the town and sit have coffee etc. Lovely lovely town though. It's within old city walls and it mostly cobbled streets and pedestrianiased. There's very little places of interest on the coastline too, it is nice though.
Plenty of restuarants and pubs and isn't all that expensive either.
I'd go again but only for a weekend break, I was in Dubrovnik.Croation for a week a couple of years ago and it was long enough.

I went there for a week and loved it. It's great if you love pretty old towns. It's a walled town, and all built out of white stone, which kind of gleams in the evening.

The ice cream is great, and the restaurants and pubs reasonably priced. I remember it being quite quiet, even in the summer, so it may not be the place for one of those "lively" holidays, with clubbing and the like.

Ah we'll make it lively! Nice to have somewhere not suffering from Ibiza-itis
