The Europa Channel - RTE involvement...

Does anyone here remember the old Europa Channel? It was on cable in Cork back in the days when Sky was just one channel. I can't find any information regarding this channel on the web. RTE were 1 of around 10 EU broadcasters involved but the channel didn't last much more than a couple of years. Anyone?

It was possibly an EBU (Eurovision) initiative much like Euronews.
