Does Steam Backup save COD stats/unlocks?

Evening all, I recently backed up all my steam games to an external HD so i could do a format. After reinstalling COD4 from the backup my stats/unlocks are no longer there. Does the backup save this info? Or am i ****ed. Wavey.

Should have posted before reinstalling, we could have told you which file to save before reinstalling ( its called mpdata btw )
