Can't sleep, now causing medical problems

First of all, I know this isn't a medical forum. I've already seen a doctor and I'm not looking for medical advice

I sleep no more than 5 hours a night. I never, ever sleep more then that.
I even went to bed at 11am last night and was wide awake at 4am. And I'm usually up and about at 7am on Saturday & Sunday mornings, girlfriend thinks I'm mad. :)

This caused me problems whatsoever until recently.
The muscle under my eyes constantly twitches so I'm almost blinking involuntarily and can't stop. I suppose I can still function and I probably could drive but I don't drive.
It's very annoying and I feel self-consious about it though as it's pretty obvious seeing my eyes flickering non-stop.

Went to the doc and was told to sleep more and eat more bananas ( for potassium). I'm not kidding, that's the advice that €55 bought me.
I did both as best as I could but I cannot sleep more than 5 hours, even doing streneous exercise doesn't help me sleep more.

I don't care about sleeping less than your average person, it could even be an advantage if I was doing study.
But I am concerned about my issue with my eyes.

Is it worth it get a second opinion?

Yes, if you aren't happy then get a second opinion. Anything else will just be medical advice.
