Just noticed a problem a couple of days ago with 3.I am getting no signal within about a mile radius from the GPO.Up until a few days ago I was using a K800i 3 branded handset and everything was fine.I just changed to a sim free LG KU900 and when I get within about a mile of the city I loose all signal and it doesnt return till I head out of the city again.Do 3 put some software on their own phones to prevent this as I just tried it on an old sim free Nokia and its the same story.Has anyone any ideas. Is it to do with changing from their 3g network to a 2.5 network?

Have you tried a manual network search?

This seems to happen all over the place and not just around the gpo. I was having a similar problem lately. The manual search is a way to go about, but it is only a temporary fix. Get on to three and make the point clear to them.

I think since they updated the option menu when you call, when u press 'number 3' it brings you straight to technical dept rather than just customer service who didn't have a clue about faults. If they don't ring you back next day or day after ring them back if you are still having the problem. Of course they will make you jump thru the hoops of battery out, factory reset etc. I got it to work out for this way, as im not having the problem anymore but other people are still in the same area, strange to believe

Thanks for the replys.Havent tried the manual search as I'm in the car but I know when you search 3 have the 3G and 2G option so maybe the 2G is the way to go when in town.Dont think there is much point ringing them as its sim free so they will not entertain me.What fixed it for you davton?
