    Cheap as chips!
The last owner aquired this vehicle from GrayPaul together with a Ferrari Enzo. He then drove the Enzo to the south of France in the truck meaning mileage and depreciation were minimised.
Not sure why anyone would drive a Ferrari Enzo to the south of France in the back of a truck though!

If you can afford an Enzo - you can afford to enjoy the bloody mileage!

I think this is the ultimate classic car transporter - the Bedford VAL.

Same Bedford chassis but the Italian Job coach had a very rare Harrington body. I think 2 or 3 survive. However plenty of Plaxton and Duple bodied VALS survive.

It would solve the "no garages to rent in Dublin" issue that is a menace for classic car owners here. (Neighbours would probably burst a blood vessel though)

arent both of those vehicles brand new, built in 2002? I thought that the reg plates style was replaced by the black and white plates around 1956?

.......yeah the original transporter was laid up when the factory backed away from racing. It became obsolete and was basically abandoned outside the museum for years. It deteriorated, nobody it seemd realised its significance, and was scrapped in the 70's.

The above one was remanufactured using original drawings and as much original parts, most of the original parts were from current vehicles, and the drivetrain was modern 3.0 Mercedes.

Apparantly its a very authentic recreation.

I think I have pictures at home somewhere of another, similar oddity: in 1989, the Skoda factory team (still behind the Iron Curtain, remember) sent a factory team of two cars and drivers to the 1989 Galway International Rally.

The cars, and team, were carried inside a specially adapted bus - and it was their accomodation for the 3 days they were here....the back of the bus opened up, and the cars drove inside. Looked for the world like an old Duple...:D

I'll see if I can find a pic........

well, I couldnt find a pic - but I know who does - Skoda !!

I emailed them, and got this this morning ! Imagine, and I don't even have a Skoda - although maybe I should if they're that attentive.

I asked Porsche about a part from my 911 and that enquiry never got answered. Maybe we should all be driving Skoda's!

That angle of attack is still probably too severe for some of my low fronted cars such as the TR6, Fiat coupe and the chin spoiler of my Mk II golf Gti to clear.

I don't think a MK1 Gti has a lower chin then a car from Maranello, tbh.......besides - there's ramps in it as well.

the more I think of it, the better the idea of that truck, over a trailer, tbh......

The point was if you're that rich why not take couple of days off 'work' and drive it yourself! i.e. What a great opportunity for an Enzo road trip...
