    Does anyone know anything about this becoming available on the Irish iPhone? Apple's site says it is "coming very soon", but I've read elsewhere that O2 are only considering activating it because the network doesn't support it.

    as far as I know it doesn't work in the UK either, so can't see it coming to Ireland

    It does. O2 Ireland just haven't set it up on their network.
