Modern Hauntings

I found this to be in interesting topic and i have brought it up a few times in conversation.
There seems to be a trend with hauntings such as somebody walking a stairs. A monk walking the grounds . A white (blue green red) vitorian lady. A horse and cart.
These are to name a few.

So what does the future hold when it comes to Hauntings ?

    Haunted Elavators / Escalators
Appiritions of Druggies that have overdosed
A haunted club were a rave can be heard ?
The haunted grounds of a house were a Nissan Micra can be heard in the drive way.

Good thread. Somethign I mentioned in another post a while ago was that apparitions almost always seem to take place in dark, quiet, abandoned areas. Never in shopping centres or busy streets or sunny parks. My thinking behind it would be that, assuming ghosts are real, whatever senses we use to percieve ghosts are easily overwhelmed by the more normal senses. If we are to percieve an apparition we need to deprive our senses of as much normal stimuli as possible. This could mean that there are haunted elevators and ghost junkies in doorways, but we just don't notice them. We only notice them when we are walking around old quiet abandoned buildings in the dark, where there tends to not have been as much modern life.

Altough when stories do come through of haunted modern residences, the impressions seem to be that the ghosts are of modern residents, and there are various stories about people who have had a family member die and then appear as an apparition.

I've seen a "ghost" of some I knew near O'Connell bridge.

    Anyway, what if:

    • Older unused places were more suitable to "holding" hauntings because the waves (or whatever) of energy (whatever form it takes) have less interferance. Like a solaton (sp?) a wave which holds its strenght and frequency in ideal conditions.

    • A modern "ghost" wouldnt look out of place in modern surroundingsso you might not notice it. Walking through a crowd you dont really notice all the different people, if you are on a huge motorway and you're into cars you might see plenty of things of note ... actually I'll quit right there as I cant phrase what i want to properly.

I feel that when we are walking down a busy street we are more concerned with what shop or where we have to go leaving us in the here and now, in the Beta state if you will, but some people have reported seeing something unusal while in these areas and generally while they are alone so I wonder is it beacause during these times alone we tend to drift off out of the Beta stage and more into an alfa, meditative state of mind thus opening up to more that is around us.

When we go to a location or old dark building we tend to go looking for something or expect something to be there and we then either let our imaginatations run wild or we learn to open to the alfa stage again and experience something, wheather its real or not would have to be determined later.

Yes we tend to put horse and cart at old buildings but how many people have reported strange sightings of cars going up and down or something of a more modern nature but automatically place it into a period of long ago beacause it pleases our brain to think these things are from back then and not now.

yeah i have asked that question a few times. Most mediums would say that animal are there in the afterlife, and ppl talk about seeing ghost animals too. So how come no one has seen the ghost of a T-Rex? Or millions of sheep and cows?:D:D:D

    Just a thought!

In old Ireland when ppl seen ghosts they were corporeal. Even now i have spoke to some ppl from the counrty and their experiences with ghosts have been with ppl as real and in the flesh as the rest of us.

I'd imagine the animal thing has to do with human connection.
