But is now a good time to buy? how long before oled makes these tv's worth next to nothing? I'm thinking of getting this tv http://www.goodmans.co.uk/productdetails.aspx?pid=GTVL26W8HD can anyone tell me if its anygood, I'd be paying around €300 for it
    any help appreciated

EDIT: I'm buying it second hand (1.5 years old) so whats the likely hood of it breaking? do tvs generally keep working grand for a good few years?

It'll be a few years yet before OLED goes mainstream, even then it'll be the very top end of the market only (I think it's still around 15k for a 9" screen or something silly like that), so LCD and Plasma will be around for a while.

For most TVs (and white goods in general) once they get past the first year they usually last a good few years after that. There's no guarantees of course, it could break tomorrow, but the odds are generally in your favour.

I don't know anythin about that TV (might find it if you search avforums.com, they'd have the best info on it) but considering you can see new 32" TVs advertised in the 400-500 range these days you might want to try bargaining a little more.
