Would you not be better to get a tripod. I guess it depends on what camera you have? If you have a bulky one a tripod would be better for stability. You can buy a monopod anywhere (Conns, Gunns, pixmania.ie, ebay). The world is your oyster! You can get nice light tripods that are just as easy to carry as a monopod. Another thing I always have in my back pocked is a homemade monopod thingie. I got a screw that fits into the base of my camera, tied a piece of butchers string to it and attached a large metal washer to the other end. The string should be the length of the camera to the ground from eye level. You then stand on the washer and pull up the camera till the string is pulled tight. You can easily move the camera around with a fluid movement without the shake.

I'd recommend Gunns. Go in and have a talk with them. They are great at giving honest advice on what would be best to suit your needs.

Monopods are simple, so you shouldn't have a problem selecting one.

Another for Gunns. Whatever saving you make on the internet add the P&P and if you've save anything it'll be a pittance.

    Nice people also.

If you're referring to the skinniest woman on earth then I can kind of see the attraction. But only in a kind of weird disturbing way....
