Hopefully that will make people sit up & take notice. However I suspect 1 million is small money compared to the size of the black market for illegal dumping.

People have been getting away with extremely lenient penalty's for a long time it's about time that the judges upped the fines and penalty's hugely and hopefully this judgment will make others cop on and give proper penalty's for these type of things but the fines for small time dumpers need to shoot up too.
Hopefully the other legislation gormley brought in for water pollution will be adhered to.
