    I have a SkY box and card from a previous subscription which I cancelled some time ago. If I ring Setanta and give them the details on the card and ask them to hook me up, will it work???:confused: Thanks.

    Which card is it? Is it the dark blue card with a yellow house logo on it? If it is, it shoudl be OK.

    I rang them about this before, they say they can send you a card out to replace your existing card...

    If it is the newest card you will have the channels within 2 hours of ordering.

    If you want just Setanta, call, GET A MANAGER as the front liners have no clue about this, and they can give you a brand new card free-of-charge that gets it. Doesn't give any FTV channels except Setanta Sports News - not even Sky Three...

    They may or may not be able to load you on to an existing expired 'blue house' card depending what state the cards in.

    Yeah thats the one. Its pretty clean and no dirt on it. Would it really be just a case of me climbing to the top of the house, lashing the satellite, finding astra 2 and off I pop?? {I know that Setanta and Sky use slightly different signals but the difference is not huge, is it?}

    One last question:- suppose my house has a satellite dish installed by SKY with an LNB which supplies the house with 1 sky box. Suppose then I ask an engineer to install a second LNB and run it to my room, would I be then able to watch my FTV and Setanta {assuming they hook me up} on my old box??

    Cheers.

    Is the dish still working for Sky box? THere may be no need to adjust the dish, if it's still picking up signals OK. Many Sky channels are indeed on Astra 2 at 28.2°E, while Setanta (and many other channels) use Eurobird at 28.5°E. While these are different satellites, the one dish will pick up both simultaneously as they're so close together.

    With regards the LNB, you can just change the single one for a Quad LNB which will give you 4 outputs. So you can connect up to 4 different receivers.

    Hello Byte thnks for the info.....if I have 4 sky boxes could I then just get 4 old sky boxes with cards and have a mult-room effect or would 1 room [and therefore 1 box} be dependent on the other?? Cheers.

    Uhm, if you wanted Setanta as multiroom, I'm pretty sure all the cards have to be in your name already. There would be an additional charge per additional card.

    The 4 boxes will always be independant of each other. If one box has the Setanta card, the rest of them won't show Setanta of course.
