    Hi,

I was thinking of upgrading the Operating system currently running on our servers from Windows 2003 server to Windows 2008 server and was wondering if anyone would have nay feedback on the mian advantages or benefits of going ahead with this. Also would there be any improvments with reagrds to DHCP and DNS in the new OS environment. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
    Cheers

Have you tried this in a test environment at all? .. just performing the upgrade to see what works and doesnt work..

Upgrading for sake of upgrading aint ever great.

How many servers have you to upgrade and will they have the hardware requirements.

Best thing is build a demo box taht you can verify things such as permissions, connectivity etc and make sure everything is hunky dorey before making the case to do it live.

Using the core install has a far less attack surface from a security point of view and requires far less cpu resourses. Can be tricky if your not familiar with it...the whole system is command-line based

No real benifit at the moment. Have you any Vista clients?
Hyper-V can have it's uses too if your not aleady using any vmware products.
