Don't know where exactly to post this but I presume people here might know what I'm looking for.

This is a long shot but here goes. I'm looking for an application to run on XP and OS X that can convert most audio file types to other file types. I know iTunes etc does this but I need a good one that's reliable and proffesional. I need to be able to work with wav, mp3, wma, aac, aiff, for starters. I want the program to have loads of options like compression amount, bit rate, bit depth, VBR on/off, normailise and so on. I want the program to be simple with no extra crap. Just select an audio file of any type, select the conversion type, adjust the settings, pick the destination and convert. Does such an application exist? If so what is it called?

Wavelab - even older versions of this app would do most conversions - even does 'batch conversions' for whole folders full of files.

I thought of wavelab but what I'm looking of needs to be way simpler. I don't need to edit or anything with it. Thanks for the suggestion though. "Batch conversions" would be handy. Any other programs out there?
