Renting House via local county council/corporation

    I am currently a landlord and heard somewhere lately it is possible to hand your property over to the local council for something like a 10 year period and allow them to rent it on your behalf for an agreed rent per month.

    Does anyone know anything about this scheme or point me in the right direction so that I can find out more about it.

    It's called the Rental Accommodation Scheme (RAS). The Dublin City Council website has some info on it here:

    Its not quite like that, you are still responsible for maintenance etc. The main benefit for a landlord is a guaranteed rent.
