    Hi All,

Has anyone managed to get the nokia E51 and blueface working??

I've read up some of the threads over at blueface, but nothing solid to go on...

Also found this tutorial on blueface for the E61:- http://www.blueface.ie/help/configurations.aspx?section=ip&item=nokiae61

Has anyone managed to get this to work?

    Thanks

yerp, i have it works on nokia E51 - if you just follow the E61 tutorial.

i actually have it on just at home with wi-fi connection, so i don't have to pick up the DECT phone we have. just being lazy :pac:

Cool, i followed the E61 tutorial but it didn't work... I've been doing some reading up and it looks like the SIP implementation on the E51 has issues traversing NAT's... did you make changes to your wifi gateway to get it to work? what sort of gateway are you using?

I can connect to my wifi network and surf the internet etc on it no problem.

i have the WRT54GP2 and cannot recall if i've ever made any changes to the configuration. i do certainly have the uPnP thing disabled - as it was crashing the router whenever i had torrent running.

I managed t get the Nokia E51 working on blueface, following those E61 instructions, but it only worked once and not again .
I recently updated the firmware on my E51 (currently version 200.34.36, was a 100.xx.xx version), recreated my Blueface settings and now it's working really well at least for outbound calls*
I have tested it on lots of secured and unsecured access points (drive-by-VoIP?) and it's great.
Updating the firmware is quick and painless making sure you back up your phone to a memory card, charge it up fully, install the Nokia phone updater software and have a little patience while it updates.
    Hope this helps.

    * i have a handset registered at home too, so e51 may not be ringing in parallel for some reason, or there are network/NAT problems. Need to check this out, will update thread when I suss it out.

I got my E51 to work with blue face yesterday using the Vodafone ISP access point, but the call quality was bad. I have never got it work with any wifi link...

I think i'll try up-grading the firmware like you did... is the call quality good over the wifi link?

Where did you get the new firmware from?? I wonder does each provider (O2, vodafone... ) get different software releases with their own customisations??

I'm with vodafone and nokia says that the latest available is 100.34.20
