Winding up on the Fouga. As an addendum to an earlier post on 1/48 models, does anyone have, or can anyone get-photos of Irish Army Landrovers, I saw on wikipedia that they have some fiels ambulances that are landies. Any help appreciated

There was nothing special about the army's Landrover's (109 and 110 series) as mostly they were handpainted by the units personal in Olive Drab, with handpainted bumpers in silver.

The GS* was just a soft top (OD canvas) with (usually) the tailgate removed and NO antenna fitted.

The FFR**, depending on the unit would have an addional two VHF whip antenna fitted either side of the side (behind the cabin) with their coax cable running in through the canvas into the radio mounting trap.

Some units had a HF whip fitted with the mounting usually on the front bumper and the antenna folded over and tied down to the rear of the vehicle.

*GS - General SErvice

** FFR - Fitted For Radio.

I'm almost certain the Air Corp has a landrover Ambulance, and I recently seen a Landrover 110 Ambulance on exercise down 'The Glen.

I seem to remember one on display at the Salthill airshow. Didn't take a picture. But maybe someone did somewhere. It caught my as years ago I built the Tamiya version.

I have pictures of bog standard army Landrovers from the eighties if that's any use?
