And the official Freesat website confirms same- http://www.freesat.co.uk/index.php?page=help.Question&id=38

Only channel 5 announced at present. Certain to be more at some point.

It will be interesting to see how this develops and which networks go FTA.

Five will almost certainly join ASAP.

Then there is the UKTV/Dave network 50% owned by the commercial arm of the BBC, 50% by Virgin media. They seem like a likely candidate as they already have a few channels on Freeview.

Then there is Vigrin Media with Virgin 1, Living TV, Bravo, Challenge, Trouble, etc, less certain but they are on Freeview with Virgin 1.

Then we get into the really uncertain networks.

MTV have shown little interest in Free TV so far, but do have TMF on both Freeview and Freesat.

Then there is the Discovery Network of Channels, which unfortunately has shown zero interest in free distribution, hopefully with the increased capacity on Freesat they will change their mind.

    ITV-HD
    CH4-HD

RTE Diaspora / International to be there before next March

Some speculation that Setanta's sports news channel will be added.

Not sure why Zone Horror or reality did not get added as Thriller and Romantica are there from the start.

Hopefully, from an Irish perspective the RTE radio stations and possibly Newstalk will show up too.

Opps, your right, it isn't, but it is on Freeview, so I assume it will get there.

I read on Broadcast some months ago that BBC Worldwide were keen to buy out Virgin from UKTV. A few days ago, it was reported that now BSkyB want to buy the channel group, though it would mean Virgin having to buy out BBC's share, and then BSkyB buying the bouquet from Virgin. Are Sky worried that UKTV might indeed go free on Freesat?

Without UKTV Sky wouldn't be worth subscribing to. I rarely watch sky 1/2/3
I watch the odd film on sky movies and the football on sky sports and I watch a lot of UKTV gold etc. I'm sure a lot of subscribers have the same viewing habits so if UKTV goes free to air a lot of people will be leaving sky.

Hopefully all the channels mentioned in the previous post's WILL go FTA, as I think Sky need a good slap in the teeth, and I think they have had it all their own way for far too long.....

Thank goodness for FREESAT! (sounds like a good catchphrase, but the Guinness lads might have something to say about it..):D

If Five goes FreeSat, does that mean you will be able to pick it up on a Sky box via other channels?

For an Irish sub? Yes. Also, they may leave it on the UK EPG, like they have with C4.
