I see the Ulster hurling championship stats this weekend. This year there is a full
compliment of counties playing and a well structured draw.

Fair play to the Ulster board and the counties involved

It's great to see all right and while it will still be dominated by the usual suspects, it should hopefully lead to an improvement in the standard overall.
    Donegal for Ulster!!

    Lol RM Drive.

I think they're right to do this. Gives counties a run out before the Nicky Rackard and Christy Ring Cups.

    Yep

Connacht and Leinster could definitely learn from it.

I've noticed how the kids in Tyrone are taking to hurling.

Anyway, as Seanies said, it's a great idea.

The one thing about it though is this: Were one of the other counties outside of Antrim to win Ulster, they won't get into the latter stages of the championship. It is unlikely the other 7 would do it, but there is always the outside chance of Down beating them. So we could have Antrim being beaten by Down in an Ulster final, and yet Antrim would go on and Down's season would end there. It is great to see all the Ulster counties playing, and it should happen in the rest of the country too.

The more hurling the weaker counties get the better. It't be great to get something going in Connacht too.

Absolutely. There is always this talk of bringing Galway into the Leinster Championship, which I think would be wrong. Galway isn't the problem. The rest of Connacht is. Galway should be playing in the Connacht Championship and getting the other counties to a level where there can be a viable one is what should be done, instead of talking about moving Galway.
