HDD recovery software?

Hi, i'm looking for recommendations for a good hard drive scanning application that can retrieve data from a drive that has failed. I have tested some of this software a few years back but the results where mixed and i don't think any of them actually worked properly.

Any recommendations?

see www.pcinspector.de ,hd data recovery program,free , my advice is set up hd as drive d:\ slave , do not put any more files or data on screwed up drive,read the prog faq/manual ,be VERY careful,take your time,or put hd in usb external case.THIS COMES UP every 3 weeks, there should be a sticky on this forum , Programs to recover data from hard drives.

spinrite is by far the best. it my run for minutes or months but it will most certenly get the job done.
