Broke, in college, dole?

Hey all i know I cant get dole as im in full time college, my problem is that im absolutely broke at the moment. (6 euro to my name and praying my holdiay money comes this week)

My cicumstances are that im in full time college and i was working part time evenings and weekends at a local shop and i gave up the job last week because ive exams starting this friday and i really really needed to study, my exams run for almost 3 weeks and ive 8 subjects.

What are my chances of getting dole or some kind of assistance until my exams are over? Technically im finished college for the year as im on my study week and exams start this friday.

Assistance would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

No chance with Social welfare.You are not entitled to Joseekers Allowance or Benefit until your exams are finished. The office will request a letter to confirm this.

go to the welfare officer in the S.U or the chaplains office. There is usually a hardship fund availible for students in your situation, they should be able to help you out to get you thru a few weeks

Thanks lads, yes i was in contact with the dole people during the week and not only can I not claim dole while im doing my exams it seems i cant claim dole at all, not even for a week or two while i look for a job because im going back to college in September... what a crazy crazy system. If i was a deatbeet id get dole no problem, seriously pissed off over it.

Im a mature student who wasn't entitled to a grant all year, ive paid my crazy fees all year, worked in a ****ty part-time job all year earning f**kall just enough to survive, sold my car and everything i own just to get this far and not to get dole is the final insult.

Ive been to the chaplain in college and it seems theyre only interested in giving me 15-20 euro a week to help me out... that honestly isnt enough, id be needing the 190euro a week the dole pays in all fairness to cover the cost of rent/bills/travel to college/food!!

Where do i go from here? Cant work while doing exams... out of money...

FearDark-I've edited the rant at the end there and the cursing.

I'd suggest that you ask to stay with friends or your family for the couple of weeks untill you get sorted.Tell them you'll pay them something when you get a job.
Take whats offered by the chaplaincy or student welfare office.
I'd also contact Vincent de Paul too.Lots of people do in genuine cases.

May be a bit late for ya but have you talked to a Bank? They're usually pretty good about student loans.
