Dec, the dash warning light staying on when the door is closed, is this what you mean?

Not sure about this one, my car went in the other day with the replace break pads light on, it needs the back brakes replaced but it still passed. I guess even when they were worn it still had the required breaking power for its size/weight so the light being on didn't matter.

    Take out the fuse

I was gonna take outthe bulb but it is buried in the center of the dash. Which I had out but started getting worried as it was jammed between the dash and steering wheel with exposed dial needles

Had a car fail for Air-Bag warning light a couple of years ago.
At the time they told me that any red warning lights showing on the dash is a fail.

Same car failed last week because the drivers window wouldn't go down.
They told me that they had to check it works in case of emergancy. It's an electric window ffs... what good is it going to be in an emergancy !
