Anyone see this on Channel 4 tonight? It was about Evangelical children in the US and a summer "camp" they attended. The kids featured seemed totally brainwashed/indoctrinated. It was scary. There were kids as young as 6 at the camp yet they made a huge thing about abortion.

The whole programme was very disturbing and to me was about child abuse!

It was the moment that mad lady said Harry Potter should die that I said to myself: uh oh.

I missed it, hoping to catch a repeat of it though. I've seen some clips and the whole thing does seem very freaky from what I've seen.

Anyone know if it's being shown again anywhere?

    am I allowed say that?

well, you'll probably see this before anyone who can edit my post does.

For the love of Binary! These threads are popping up everywhere.

Took them long enough to televise this: I saw first about 2 years ago.

Theres already a good thread in Christianity about it and one cropping up in Atheism.

edit: yeah mordeth the producers have released the documentary for free. You can watch/link/download etc. a google of Jesus Camp should have it pop right up.

Despite the Pro Life attitude it gives their religion an expanding base of followers to work with. But I'll leave that debate for Humanities or forums unknown.

Sorry for starting another thread, I don't tend to venture outside a number of boards on here so wouldn't have gone near the religious boards.

As a TV programme the interesting stuff for me were the Oscar nomination and the fact that it's taken 3 years to televise over here.

As a sociological study it was scary. I'm not religious at all and that programme re-enforced why. If that little girl had come up to me in a bowling alley to tell me about God I would have told her where to go, or maybe called social services.

The pro life thing was deeply disturbing, the images and models they showed young children were designed to illicit an emotional response. And they capitalised on it.

The notes at the end of the show were a relief in part. If I'd lived in the US at the time I might have been tempted to join in with those who left their mark at camp littlewood ;)

As a quick aside, I had similar images and plastic baby models shown to me as part of RE in 5th year.

It really is frightening to know places like that exist. Pure brainwashing. I did think while watching that Levi kid will be in a tower some day shooting non believers below with a rifle.
