    Hi Guys.

Just wondering if anyone's come across any Open Source educational software that is compatible with touch screens. A special needs school I do a bit of work for got a donation of a touch screen and I'd like to put it to some good use.

    Thanks

    ding

I don't think you need the software to be touch screen compatible but rather configure X to use the touch screen as a pointing device. Then all the software should work with the touch screen as it it was a mouse.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I assume, you are talking about an interactive whiteboard(IWB)?
    ..and if you are: http://www.ncte.ie/documents/advicesheets/16InteractiveWBs(June07).pdf
    or http://www.cbiproject.net/
    are all good starts.

Contact your local NCTE Education officer in your region for more information, and even in some cases, a grant, which will allow you to purchase software, and because it's a special needs school, should be eligble for a higher grant rate.
