    Just downloaded extgps http://www.symarctic.com/beta/static.php?page=extgps_download

You can connect a phone with GPS to your mac and use it as a bluetooth GPS thing. Are there any programs this would work well with? Like using your laptop as a giant sat-nav in the car.

    Anybody know anything like this?

    (the free-er the better :D)

    http://www.macgpspro.com/ for $60

    or

    http://www.gpsy.com/ for $50

    or

Google Earth, believe it or not! for $0

    or

    http://www.routebuddy.com/index.html for $100 + $50 for the map set

I'm not sure how well Google earth would work seeing as it needs a net connection for live map data. The first 2 are more positioning apps......they don't come with complete mapping data. They depend on downloading 3rd party mapping data.......not cheap!

Routebuddy looks like the best all-round solution. It looks very feature rich and can do proper sat nav things.
