Dentistry abroad

Please move mods if this is not the right forum. A friend of mine if going to Budapest very soon to have dental treatment that is going to cost €3k instead of the €12k that it would cost in Ireland. She is now pretty scared though as it turns out they don't accept credit cards and she has tried to check out credentials but these are not so easy to find. She is now really really nervous but wants the treatment. Does anyone have any experiences of having gone abroad for dental work? Think it may reassure her. Likewise, if anyone has heard any horror stories. She didn't research it that well and is going soon. Thanks in advance for any replies.

It sounds like a mugs game.

You could try checking with the embassy.

Note her health and travel insurance is probably void if engaging in medical tourism. She is likely to have no after service if she has problems afterwards.

Where did she find this dentist? The internet?
