yes i examine the projects and conduct interviews in ag science. It's not as bad as you think.

you will have to be able to identify 5 common plants from a selection either provided by your teacher or the examiner. you will have to be able to name the families they come from. ie the Latin names - Compositae, Gramineae etc (5 marks + 5 marks)

Then you will have to be able to identify 3 food producing animals - breeds of cattle, pigs, sheep (3 marks)

and 7 non-food producing animals, eg earthworm, greenfly, various pests (7 marks)

you will have to be able to talk about your livestock experience which you have done a project on, most people do cattle, pigs or sheep. if you come from a farm you can talk about the farm, it will make it easier on yourself. (15 marks)

You will have to talk about the 2 crops you did your project on, most people do grass and potatoes/barley/sugar beet(15 marks)

You should have done a drawing of a farm layout (5 marks)

The final section (and the examiner can ask these in any order) is the experiments. You will be asked questions on the following sections, ie experiments - method, result, conclusion, application to agriculture etc

    Soil (10)
    Ecology (10)
    Animal Physiology (heart,lungs etc)(10)
    Genetics (5)
    Microbiology (5)

    Plant Physiology (photosynthesis, transpiration etc)(5)

So you talk about the different experiments you did in each area.

the interview will last around 15-20 minutes.

not everyone gets called for interview unless it's a very small class. Only a random sample of students is chosen to make sure your teacher has marked you fairly. So unless you're in a small class you might not get picked.

    Good luck.
